Wow, it’s been fffaaaarrrr too long since I blogged something, and well in the spirit of Halloween, which I’m quite fond of, I thought I’d post this first video of I Luv Halloween and a link to where you can read the I Luv Halloween manga. This is from writer Keith Giffen and artist Ben Roman. Keith Giffen is a veteran comic book artist and writer who is best known for his critically acclaimed work on Justice League and Legion of Super Heroes. Keith Giffen is currently working on several projects for DC Comics and co-writes and illustrates Dominion for Image Comics. He also rewrites Battle Royale and Battle Vixens for TOKYOPOP. Ben Roman always loved to draw, he never considered a career in art until he moved to Los Angeles in 2003. ANd well, I’m in love with him. Ha.
Anywho, this is not for the kiddies, so please watch if only you’re interested in cartoon gore. I simply love it not only cause i’m sick and I like stuff like that but the artwork is AMAZING in the manga and well, it’s just bad ass. There’s not much I can say to do it justice to please, watch and read for yourself.
Oh, and reading is a must, that’s how i first discovered it and that’s always the best way to get the true feeling, as it was orginally intended. Not that the animation isn’t cool…it’s just, I can’t help but like the original manga version.
You can read the manga here (but you should go buy it too!): Tokyo Pop
Haven’t posted anything in a while and a co-worker of mine posted this on our company blog. Super cute! I’ve always loved stop motion animation by Carlos Lascano.

AHHHHHHHH!!!! I just fell in love and found a new obsession for manga!!! Takehiko Inoue is a genius artist and story teller!!! My tattoo artist Lewis Hess recommended this manga, Vagabond, of which I’d heard, but not yet read.
The story is about a ronin named Shinmen Takezo, who is later known by Myamoto Musashi. Turns out, he was a real man in feudal Japan born in 1584 and was famed for his duels and distinctive style. Musashi, as he is often simply known, became legendary through his outstanding swordsmanship in numerous duels, even from a very young age. He is the founder of the Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū or Niten-ryū style of swordsmanship and the author of The Book of Five Rings, a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today.
Inoue takes his legendary and somewhat unknown story and tells in a way you just must find out for yourself. And what beautiful artwork!!! Some of the pages are water colored or painted and it’s just amazing what detail he can put into it. I just can’t explain in words, you’ll simply have to experience it yourself! Highly recommend! ItIf you are at all interested in samurai, or even japanese culture, this is a MUST. Just look at his wall painting with nothing but black paint…
I found translated chapters online and I couldn’t resist. I of course want to spend money on the books but with the amount of volumes at this point I’d have to spend some money to read everything published so far.
If you want to read them, and you should, go to One Manga and you can read up to the latest book and the’ll keep updating with more, this is also where I read my Naruto and Bleach. Since finding it here, I’ve sat and read the 251 chapters they have available within a few days or so. Every shred of free time I had to devoted to reading it. That just shows how amazingly engaging it is.

So just read Chapter 403…and of course there isn’t a damn thing going on…just more filler before the real action starts. Although it does seem like Itachi gave Naruto some of his power? WTF? Why would he do that and what did he give Naruto exactly? It’s hard to tell what Itachi was thinking since it’s only come to light what he had intended all along for Sasuke. Dammit, now I’m confused and cant’ wait! So Sasuke is still going to attack Konoha but sounds like he’s got something up his sleeve for reinstating the Uchiha clan…if that is his intention. I think he needs to get rid of Madara though…I don’t trust that guy even though I love his silly mannerisms.
Naruto and Sasuke will fight again…only I think Sasuke has a huge leg up on Naruto…we don’t even know how far Naruto has progressed since the last time he released the chakra from Kyuubi and probably was close to dying. AND Madara and the probably Sasuke I bet can control Kyuubi…
…and what about Akatsuki??? Where are those clowns? Do they still want the nine tails? Isn’t that the last demon they need? And Madara is in control of Akatsuki…so would Sasuke let him have Naruto? Or would he want to fight Naruto himself? ACK! Masashi is definately going to be bringing it all to a head here shortly I’m sure…but still… It’s too much to bear! I can’t freakin’ wait!!!

This is insane! MUTO by Blu is an animation painted on walls in Buenos Aires and Baden that I found on the CMD Agency blog posting. Watch it, it will blow you away I’m sure. Having my brother and a few friends be graf artists, I can especially appreciate this one. AMAZING!!
Not only is that rad, but his wall paintings and art are just awesome! Check out all his stuff!

Ahhh…just read 1-9 of Turn Back the Pendulum of Bleach…

…which follows chapter 315: March of Death
Holy crap. I hate how they always have to stop it RIGHT at the beginning or middle of something HUGE and recap all the god damned characters! Well, it’s a love hate thing, I love how now I get to see the history of characters like Aizen, Shinji, Hiyori, Tessai, Urahara, Mayuri, and a slew of other characters only briefly shown or mentioned in the series. I’m stoked to get to know the background of how the Vizards came to be, especially Shinji and Hiyori…two of my favorite characters in Bleach.
So, what’s going on? Aizen obviously is involved somehow with how even the Vizards even came to be seeing that they were all prominent soul reapers and even captains! I can’t wait to see what shakes down out of this as far as thier history. Haha, and Shinji…he has long hair!! I love his mod cut waaay better. haha. And I love that Hiyori is pretty much exactly the same.
Now, I love that I get to know more about the characters but hate that I have to wait until its done to see what happens with the big battle between the Soul Society captains and the Espada AND the fight between Ichogo and Ulquiorra.
Oh, I just can’t wait! I hate waiting…I just wish I knew japanese and maybe I’d get to read them that much faster…
anyway, can’t wait to see what comes up next for Bleach!
I made an offial website! http://stabstabstabdesigns.com
It’s free and well i’m not a programmer so it’s pretty basic. But still, it’s great to have my own registered domain name! Please tell me what you think. This site is just to show my portfolio of graphic design work and info on contacting me for commissions. Enjoy and again, please give me any feedback on it!

I was recently told about the Ghibli Studio movie, Tales from Earthsea.
Director Goro Miyazaki is every bit as brilliant as his father Hayao Miyazaki. I’m just taken away by all that I’ve seen from them and Ghibli Studio. While the it’s not as visual as Hayao’s movies like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, but it still has a captivating storyline.
The best thing I find about these films is really how simply thier animated. Well, the characters anyway. The shape of the nose, eyes, mouths, are all reminiscent of the old animated tv series like RoboTech or the like. The animation is of course far beyond what it was, but the simple line art of the human characters with incredibly detailed backgrounds and scenery, amazing story telling all bring it together so wonderfully.
I really hope that someday my daugther will enjoy these films as much as I do and just love the fact that these films can span the age gap. I don’t know one adult who’s seen a Miyazaki film that hasn’t absolutely adored it, and my daugther has already watched parts of Howl’s Moving Castle and was mesmerized. Not that I let her watch a lot of television at this point…but I digress.
I sound like I’m ranting a bit but my main point here is I will never cease to be amazed by what Ghibli Studio and the Miyazaki’s are creating. There are a few other I still need to see and can’t wait to enjoy watching them.
Below is a list of films and links to Ghibli Studio movies I HIGHLY reccomend:
Princess Mononoke
Howl’s Moving Castle
Spirited Away
Nausicaa of the Wind
Porco Rosso
Tales from Earthsea
Grave if Fireflies
My Neighbor Totoro
